On Wednesday 14th November, the Studio at Komedia was transformed into a feminist paradise, full of beautiful clothes, great tunes and wonderful people, all in aid of The Red Box Project, and sponsored by the brilliant Lewes FC Women. There was (of course!) an abundance of red glitter-dipped tampons, a towering pile of donations to The Red Box Project, and by the end of the night most of the crowd were sporting Lewes FC Women’s ‘Equality FC’ pins.
The main event of the evening, the catwalk, went off without a hitch, thanks to our wonderful models, who all volunteered their time, and the excellent compèring skills of Fizzy Snood (complete with excellent tampon-themed headpiece). We were thrilled that so many of you loved the pieces, all donated by the female makers, and took them home with you, making a valuable donation to The Red Box Project.

We could wax lyrical about the event all day, but the figures do speak for themselves: we sold 110 event tickets (in fact, we sold out!); 130 raffle tickets, lots of pieces of clothing and accessories were sold, and of course, you all raised an incredible total of £900 - thank you so much to all of you for your generous donations. Even by buying a ticket to the event you helped raise valuable funds for the Brighton & Hove branch of The Red Box Project.
We’re so proud to be part of a community that cares so much for the rights and welfare of women and girls, and thanks to your generous contributions the final sum of £900 will not only buy pads and tampons, but will allow the women behind The Red Box Project to reach more girls in need.
Over half the collection was sold, and the rest of the beautiful pieces will be listed in Sister Society’s online shop soon - we’re biased, but we think they’d make great Christmas gifts!
We want to take this moment to say a MASSIVE thank you to all our volunteers, contributors, models, sponsors, venue, hairstylists & muas, photographers, videographer, DJ & compere - we couldn’t have done it without you all!
